Emails show sent but not arriving

Email accounts I've tested sending to are domain based hotmail, a gmail account, an Exchange account and another isp based account. Initially an invoice app on a WordPress site was the "sender" but messages from a contact form also fail. Both give success messages.
Any ideas where to check?

I added edge.x10hosting.com to safe senders in hotmail (x10host.com and x10hosting.com were already there) and 2 out of the 4 addresses received from the contact form. That's weird because one of them was the Exchange account which I didn't do anything to - but they are both Microsoft products so who knows. The invoicing app is still not working.
