error 500 on my host

Have a 500 error in my host. What is this?

This error is being caused by your .htaccess file; if you rename it to .htaccess.bak it shows a directory listing, but as soon as you rename it back to .htaccess the error returns. While I'm no expert on .htaccess file formatting, knowing the error goes away when renaming it and comes back when you rename it back to its original name, the contents of this file is the cause of the 500 ISE you're experiencing.
