Error establishing a database connection

For the last month or so, everytime I try to access my web (tapedlive.x10hosting.com) I get the following message: Error establishing a database connection. Moreover, I've been unable to login to my c-panel during this time.

For the database, try this:

1. Log in to your cPanel
2. Under Databases category, click MySQL Databases
As you can see on the MySQL page, all databases are intact. The databases are there and also the users. But eventhough they are there, your site wasn't able to connect on the database. Follow the next step.
3. Locate the category which will allow you to add a user to the database. Add User To Database
4. Select the appropriate user and database you have used for your website and click the Add button. Note: Be sure to choose the correct one or it will not worked.
5. You will be redirected to the Manage User Privileges page, select ALL PRIVILEGES then click the Make Changes button.
6. If all are successful, your site will be working.

Make sure your configuration file has the host set to localhost.

Since you can't do the above without cPanel, are you able to load cPanel login page? What error message do you get?

Well, part of the solution to the database problem requires you to be able to use the cPanel.

Login screen won't come up?
Won't accept your password/username?
Have you tried going via the Account Panel https://x10hosting.com/control/login.php ?

The problem is that every time I try to log into cpanel I get a 'Login Attempt Failed!' error. I tried different URLs for the cpanel, but found the same issue in all of them. I don't know, is there a way to reset the cpanel account?

Sign into the account panel

https://x10hosting.com/control/login.php

and use it to change your password. It changes your Forum and cPanel password to the same password. When it asks for your old password, enter your Forum password.
