Error establishing a database connection

Hello,

I was working on my website (through wordpress) and went to view it when I got the message "Error establishing a database connection". Now nothing works on my website. I have no idea how this happened since I did not mess with the database at all.

Any assistance you can give to me would be much appreciated.
