"Error establishing a database connection"

I don't understand why this is happening. I'm maintaining this site on behalf of my girlfriend, and I am unable to see any sort of errors. I'm not seeing any errors in the error log.

Oddly enough, I cannot load the MySQL page of the control panel.

Please help! All the files are still there when I FTP into it. So I think it might be an issue on x10's side.

I do not see the user in the list of users. I'm not quite sure what to do.
