Error establishing database connection

Seems like there are a lot of such errors going around lately, however I would just like to check if mine is due to my own configuration or due to the server updates. I am using wordpress as well and it was working fine until yesterday as well. pls help me out..

step one is checking that your wp-config.php has the right information. For database host it should be 'localhost'.

There's some work being made to our backend, for instance is lotus being migrated to a new server, which could be the cause of your problem as well.
