I bought a domain with a registrar and the dns settings there are already preconfigured for google apps. Is it possible that I just set the A records to x10 and retain the dns management with my registrar?

Set the A record to the IP of the server you are on.
Then either set the domain as your main domain, part it, or set it as a addon domain.

Thank you for replying. I am not sure where to get the ip but my the account information says 67.228.161.42 is this correct? I am on lotus.

After waiting for about a day to resolve the forwarding I am having trouble accessing my site. I can get to cpanel but could not access the site itself. I get this page (see attachment). In my account details I checked the host own domain name and placed http://www.domain.com

Did you after you added your A record login to your cPanel, and add the domain name as an Addon Domain?

A mydomain.com 67.228.161.42
A *.mydomian.com 67.228.161.42
CNAME www.mydomain.com mydomain.com

in x10hosting account details I changed my
koyut.x10hosting.com to:

Check if using your own domain name
http://mydomain.com

From the cpanel tutorial it says that addon domains are for adding domain names to a specific directory with the hosting account so I'm not sure if that is the step I need to do. Do I have to add it there or is is just automatic if I just set my primary domain in modify account details?

I can access my cpanel by using mydomain.com:2082 but how come if I point my browser to mydomain.com it does not show up my index.html page and just shows the page I attached in my previous post.

P.S. Will I be suspended if my site remains idle?

You should set your A record to point to the IP: 67.228.162.200.

When you ping your account you'll see the IP Address.
