I am trying to configure Google Apps MX records. I can add them in the MX entries, but when I verify, it says I have an extra MX extry.

Code:
davidvuong.ca A 5 minutes 198.91.81.5 ()
davidvuong.ca MX 5 minutes 10 aspmx2.googlemail.com
davidvuong.ca MX 5 minutes 5 alt2.aspmx.l.google.com
davidvuong.ca MX 5 minutes 5 alt1.aspmx.l.google.com
davidvuong.ca MX 5 minutes 1 aspmx.l.google.com
*****davidvuong.ca MX 5 minutes 0 davidvuong.ca*****
davidvuong.ca MX 5 minutes 10 aspmx3.googlemail.com

the record in *****...I've looked everywhere in CPanel and can't find it. Not sure what's going on...

Try the advanced DNS editor, this will show you all the MX entries including any other DNS entries for your domain.

Hi David, I'm not able to find the extra MX on the DNS name servers in the zone or by querying:

--
root@xo4 [~]# dig @ns1.x10hosting.com davidvuong.ca mx +short
0 aspmx.l.google.com.
1 alt2.aspmx.l.google.com.
1 alt1.aspmx.l.google.com.
3 alt4.aspmx.l.google.com.
3 alt3.aspmx.l.google.com.
--

It may be that Google is seeing cached records. How long has it been since you've made any change to your MX records?

Also, in a somewhat-recent version of cPanel they've taken the MX records out of the Advanced DNS Editor (as Corey has mentiond). Now they must be managed through the MX Entries page under the Mail section.

Thanks everyone! I think I needed to wait for the DNS records to update. What I initially tried was to point my domain to Cloudflare, and then point the x10hosting NS to cloudflare, and then add all my MX records through Cloudflare. That's where I had the extra MX record as stated in the OP. I moved all the DNS handling back to the CPanel and it seemed to resolve the problem. Ideally, I would like Cloudflare to handle my DNS if possible.
