MySQL Issues On Stoli - 12-06-2007, 04:43 AM
We have moved MySQL to a remote server for all accounts o Stoli(Ad-Enhanced).

If your database is not working please login to your cPanel, go to Remote MySQL and add "stoli.x10hosting.com" as a host name.

After you do this, go into whatever script you use and change the database hostname from localhost to 'mysql.x10hosting.com'

mysql.x10hosting.com is the NEW host name for all databases on Stoli.

still not work...

Thanks

I'm just guessing here, but I suspect Fantastico is trying to use localhost instead of the mysql.x10hosting address. I'm sure it's not the highest thing on their priority list right now... though it would sure be nice (for me anyway) if it was. ;)

Actually, from what I understand; Fantastico need to be pointed to its correct server for each account. I belong to stoli, so they need to point Fantastico from mysql.x10hosting.com to its new location at stoli.x10hosting.com.

It is something that is a pretty easy fix and as Corey stated in another thread, this will be the last thing fixed. Right now he's removing inactive users and cleaning up the servers.

For now, if you know where to find the software that you want installed from Fantastico, download the software from the main website for the software, upload the file archive using The cPanel File Manager (and use it to extract the file also), or you could FTP each file unextracted, or FTP the extracted file and use the File Manager to unextract the file. After, go into MySQL and create a database for the software to use. After, run the install PHP file for the software you want, and make sure you set the MySQL Database server path to mysql.x10hosting.com in the set up file. After that, it should be smooth sailing. Not too bad, just takes more time depending on your connection speed/web site knowledge than Fantastico.

My upload speed is only 5KB/s.

So using fantastico is my only option here. . .

So what exactly i need to do to make fantastico work?
I already do that adding server to remote mysql. But still notworking.

Thanks
