I installed word press and deleted all the folders in the file manager. Now i get this error.
The installation can not be completed:

- You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.

One more time.
You installed WordPress using Fantastico.
Then you manually removed the files and directories (and database).
Correct?
Now you are trying to use Fantastico to install WordPress (or some other script).
And you are getting an error, right?

Correct, i get that error. People on the net say it has something to do with the hidden .fantasticodata folder or something like that. I know its there because i saw it in one of the command control or something like that. Basically yes, i installed it, uninstalled it because i changed my mind, changed my mind again tried to install it again and got that error. This all through fantastico by the way.

Thanks Matt,

You have to go up one directory level from public_html to /home/yourCPanelUserName

You should see a directory .fantasticodata (you have to have hidden files visible)

See if you have a file named installed_in_root.php

If you do, rename it to something else, like OLD_installed_in_root.php

I would do the same to a directory named WordPress in .fantasticodata

That should clear it up. I prefer renaming files/directories instead of deleting them because you can undo a renaming, you cannot undo a delete.
