I found x10hosting very slow sometime, response time timeout(30 seconds) I have setup a monitoring service to monitor(15 minutes) the website and I have setup up accounts on many servers to monitor those.
Starka:down on 8:26 EDT(12:26 UTC)
up on 8:41 EDT(a monitor span)
Boru: down on 8:11 EDT(12:11 UTC)
up on 8:26 EDT(a monitor span)
Please monitor your servers every minute to get the detailed information
A DDoS attack attacks page(s) that waste MySQL resource(e.g.search, very long page, etc.)
This might be the answer why MySQL servers are slow and 500s

Starka:
down: main website on 9:11 EDT(13:11 UTC) or 9:06(13:06) on another monitor service, a subdomain on 9:41(13:41) another subdomain(use freesql.org db) on 9:56(13:56)
up on 9:56 EDT(3 monitor span)
Boru:
down on 9:26(13:26)
up on 9:56 EDT(2 monitor span)

I am now sure the attack is DDoS, but I don't know what type of DDoS, I visited my main website (on Starka). Very slow page loading(like 30 seconds)

Can you guarantee 100% that it is a DDoS?

Because periods of slowness on servers that have a few thousand accounts of them is -not- uncommon.

yes, there are some patterns and all servers response at same speed. All servers are up on 12:56 EDT and response in 21.5 seconds.
And the DDoS target is MySQL.

It might be due to the optimization being done, -or- that mysql is on a separate server and actually handling requests for more than 1 free server - it's using Remote MySQL to keep MySQL from hogging resources the webservers actually need just to serve normal pages.

Given that we haven't had any news advisory -of- a DDoS and that when it's been a DDoS in the past we have, I'm still thinking it's not a DDoS.

Chopin has problem connecting to mysql and starka reports:
The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable.
Please try again later.
This error seem to come from nginx and your server semms to use nginx and proxy to apache, then tun php using cgi in apache(which is inefficient). and this error only exist when backend is down(apache)

Even is not a ddos attack, you still need to do some protection and add some mysql servers(and some postgresql)

if apache and mysql is down, 99.99% it's a ddos

---------- Post added at 01:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:30 PM ----------

Starka down on 8:16 EDT
Boru down on 8:31 up on 8:44 EDT

Freesql's mysql server is even faster than x10hosting ones

I will have to move if x10hosting don't fix this error

Your site should be faster now; your permissions were setup wrong.

How are you monitoring the services?
