File upload

I have tried to upload 3 files: one is ahtml file and the other 2 are word documents. I can see them in the public html file, but they cannot be opened from the website.

How are you trying to upload the files?

Please define "they cannot be opened from the website"
You get a 404 File Not Found?
You get another type of error?
Pardon my ignorance, but what is an 'ahtml' file?
Do you have urls we can try, especially for the word docs ?

When he put "ahtml" I believe he meant "a html".
