Hi,

I have a question about the files and folders which are already (before adding files or folders yourself) there. In the folder 'public_html' you must put all your files and folders for your website, so that the visitors can see them.

In that folder ('public_html') there are other folders like '_private' and 'cgi-bin' and files like '.htaccess' and 'robots.txt'. Is it okay if you delete these files and folders? Or will it resolve in your website being unviewable?

Thanks for help that comes :)

ok cgi-bin is for cgi-bin applications.. its best left.
robots.txt stops robots spamming the heck out of x10 by crawling your site as fast as they can, so best left.
.htaccess adds features to your site, such as error pages, or redirects, or password protections etc. so, bes to leave

any directory starting with _ is most likely (and is by default anyway) part of the frontpage extensions. If you want to remove them, its best done via the cpanel.

Thank you for your quick reply. :)

I will leave things as they are, which is most likely best.
Thanks for letting me know anyway!
