Files won't delete

I uninstalled oscommerce from cpanel because I decided I don't want to use it, but all of the files are still in my public_html folder. I have deleted them numerous times, but they are still there. I need to get this resolved as soon as possible. Please help!

How are you trying to delete them? Via FTP or the cPanel file manager?
