First Time Add-On Domain - Problems

I have a domain on a free hosting account: mansams.x10hosting.com.
Tonight I created an add-on domain: tommobley.x10hosting.com in that same account.
I set up my FTP client and FTPd a file to the server public_html.tommobley.x10.com.
The file is named index.html
When I type http://tommobley.x10hosting.com into my browser I get a default website error page:
http://tommobley.x10hosting.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi
Where have I gone wrong?
