fopen() not working in php v2

Hi,

I have upgraded php to intermediate level, but still am unable to use fopen() and file_get_contents(). The following error is shown
Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /home/merasite/public_html/test.phtml on line 8

Please let me know if I need to do something more.

When did you apply for the php version ?
I takes a about 6 hours for the changes to take full effect.

the upgrade is complete... it's been about 10-15 days... still i am unable to use fopen()

No I am stil facing the same problem. Here is the url for testing.

and here's the error

The problem was on the file extension. After renaming the file to .php it's now working: http://merasite.x10hosting.com/test.php
