Have you checked whether both your database and it's user account/password still exists, and that they have not become corrupted from the recent server changes?

The URL you have given doesn't give the technical reason / statement regarding the problem connecting to server. Can you test it with a small code snippet for mysql connectivity and post the error message generated (if any) ?

$db_persist = 0;

Error message;
Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

I think kajasweb wants a more technical/detailed error message. The one you posted tells us that something doesn't work, but it doesn't tell us exactly what isn't working.

You need to run a small test script or something that will tell you the exact error. (I'm no PHP coder so I can't write one for you.)

oh...

well im no php coder either, but thats the only error message im getting

or they switched the mysql name
