I'm not completely sure if this is the right place to go, but here it is.
I'm thinking about switching to paid hosting; I don't really have a full-fledged website, but I have various projects that I like to keep up on the net. I'm wondering what the real differences are between paid and free hosting, especially in terms of service, reliability, up-time, etc.
As far as I can tell, the service has been very reliable and speedy -- even though new accounts are stuck in a queue for the moment. But a few months ago, I remembered having a lot of downtime with free hosting (I'm not complaining, it IS free after all).
Basically, what's the difference in experiences?
