i am 16 and can not get a credit card.

Yes, as corey as said in the first post http://forums.x10hosting.com/news-announcements/61963-free-domain-read.html#post355709 the thread will remain open as long as the deal goes on. As well, the link provided in the same post still redirects to the page where the deal goes on.

For the credit card issue, ask someone with a valid credit card to register the domain in his name.

I got mine a few months ago but when I visit it now, the text on the bottom says, "LIMITED TIME OFFER Use invitation code FIRSTYEAR at check out to receive your first year free on a .com, .net, or .org domain when you register for 2 or more years." so I guess this thread could be closed since the offer appears to be over.

If the offer is still valid, it only applies to new registrations. I don't think it applies to domain transfers.
