FTP access

I have been trying to upload files using cyber duck (i have downloaded the bookmark file for cyber duck). The issue is that it retrieves the directory list but will not let me upload and files. I have tried in many of of the different folders. I am able to create folders but no files will be placed inside. Cyber duck reports a upload fail.

Do I need to switch ftp access on some where?

Check Cyber duck options if it is opening the ftp in readonly mode or not
Else use filezilla ftp client which is the best in my view.
