FTP Consistent Timeout

Hi, so I've been trying to access my site via FTP and it has been timing out on me. I've used two different FTP managers and tested if I could access my other sites. My issues point to it being specifically x10.

I've checked the forums and followed the advice to no avail. I also checked if my credentials were in order by logging into my sites FTP:// via the browser and that works so I'm unsure as to what the actual issue is. Thank you all for your time, I hope this is something simple.

What address are you using as host?
Can you paste the full error message?

I am using x10host.com, server: xo7, the full error I am getting when using an FTP Program is: "Sorry, the action you are trying to complete has timed out. [28] Additional information: Operation timed out"

The details you need for FTP client

Host: (your account's primary (main) domain) or (your server's IP) - Port: 21

Protocl: FTP - File Transfer Protocol

Encryption: Use plain FTP

Logon Type: Normal

User: (your cPanel user name)

Password: (your cPanel password)

Okay, so using regular FTP worked. Why would SFTP not work?
