Hi all,

I've been moved over to new server.

When I try access ftp I get this:

Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server

I am using FileZilla normal FTP on port 21 (not SFTP, although that doesnt work either). I have tried:

  • resetting password on main x10 hosting account
  • adding new ftp users on cPanel
  • changing ports and other setting
to no avail.

Could someone please help?

How are you sending your username?

If you are using something of the form yoda@mysite.com , try using just yoda .

How are you sending your username?

If you are using something of the form yoda@mysite.com , try using just yoda .

Try entering your username without the '@' sign or anything else following the @ sign, e.g.
'username' instead of 'username@ftp.x10hosting.com'.

This worked for me and several others.

That seems to work thank you.

However, it doesnt work for the ftp users that I add - on the main user linked to my hosting account. Any reason you can think of for this?
