Hello, depending on what ftp client you are using there may be different ways of setting it up.

As for the ftp URL:

ftp://o00111011.pcriot.com OR ftp.o00111011.pcriot.com

Username: Cpanel Username
Password: Cpanel Password
Port: you can usually leave blank, but if it doesn't work, use 21.

You upload into the /public_html folder.

Anything visible to the public must be in the public_html folder or a subfolder.

Hello, in the code that you want to display the image, instead of just having "image.filetype" you will need "images/imagename.filetype".

Because the website needs to know to look into the images folder.

We do not allow anonymous ftp access.

You should use the http protocol to show files to the public.

so... i would have to create an account for whoever wants to download a file... or even an image pack?

but... i can use the ftp://* to allow people access to files (download only). it's just that i want people to SEE the files on that page (or else, what's it there for ?)

No! You do not have to make an FTP account for each user! Users can download things if you link to them with http:// before them.

but i can't have the basic directory page for my ftp folder to have links to the files ? (lame imo)

if the above 'statement' is true, then there is no purpose in the ftp folder being used (other than somewhat seperating files and other things)

FTP can't be used anonymously. You can FTP files to your site but people can only download them via HTTP (Website).
