FTP is not updating the files

I have the default.htm file on my website but i still dont see it on the web. Actually, I modified and uploaded the file to the www directory. Can you please let me why i not able to view it.

I cant even see any new file from the browser that i uploaded.

The default web page on your site should be named index.html, index.htm, or index.php (if you are using php). This file should be placed in the public_html directory. This should work unless you are using some very unusual setup.
