FTP Issue

Whenever I try to connect to FTP, it says 17:44:24 > Disconnect on no connection. I know the password and username are correct - if I change them I get an incorrect user/password error. Also, when I try to go to my site, it won't automatically load the index file. In the past, when I have had a file titled index.php in the root directory, it will be loaded automatically when going to my site. (mysite.com will load as though I had type mysite.com/index.php). Am I doing something wrong with these two issues, or is there something else that isn't working right?

This is a known issue with the server you are on. The administrators have been trying to figure out whats causing this issue.

Thanks. I saw that on the network news, but thought it might have been resolved by now. I guess not.
