FTP not updating...

Hey,

My problem is that whenever i try and update any of the files i currently have on my site, via FTP. Everything seems to work ok, but when I goto the website to check if it is updates, nothing changes...

I think i have recently been moved to sustained server, could that have any impact on the situation?

Your domain might be pointing to old free server, i had same problem, what i did was:

1. Log in to free server cPanel
2. Remove domain
3. Go to sustained server cPanel / [cPanelName].x10hosting.com/cpanel (i always use that way )
4. Remove domain from there too.
5. Re-add domain in sustained server cPanel.

how do i access the different cpanels (sustained/free) ???

Tried removing and got this error:

Parked Domain Removal

Error from park wrapper: Unable to find out which user owns the parked domain distrasdesigns.com.

Free cPanel: 66.232.109.231:2082
Sustained cPanel: 66.232.119.248:2082 OR [cpanelName].x10hosting.com/cpanel after move

About the error, you probably tried removing from sustained server first, but you must free it first from free server.

EDIT: also on 4th step (if you followed order) you will get a error, but domain will be removed.

And there will be 5-15 minute wait to do for domain to point to right place.

Your luck i was on forums

and removing/adding should take 1-2 minutes maximum, so patience with that

yeah i waited.. lol.

Errrm, it was removed on the free server account... But now ive logged into the Sustained server cpanel and now im getting the same error message again :s

ok, i dont think i needed to remove it from the sustained, as its all working fine now

It updated the new sustained server, but the domain distradesigns.com used free server information

gives 4o4 for me

Error is normal, because domain isn't pointed after move to new server, but to point it, you have to remove that domain from your sustained cPanel information so you can re-add it (else DNS server wont get updated) (and yes, its REQUIRED step)

distrasdesigns.com isn't pointed anywhere. No A record returned.

ns1 and ns2 currently have no info about the domain.

I'm guessing removing it from the free server's cpanel signaled the deletion from the nameservers. So, as t2t2t stated, you must remove and re-add the domain.

It might work for you for a little while (or a long while, if your ISP is bad), but few other people will be able to reach it.

I used the old ip address, thanks to Corey for not deleting it right away, lol
when I got moved, everything on the website looks like the day before the move.

ok, yeah i guess it was working for a little bit, then messed up.

Ive added the parked domain back onto the sustained server, and all seems to be working fine..
