FTP Problems

I've been trying to extract files from the server's FTP for quite a long time now.
They NEVER finish when I want to get a folder, like /forum thus I cannot make backups when I want to mod the forum.
www.studio92k.pcriot.com is my account and when the connection to the FTP gets lost, it affects the actual site as well..

Is there a fix to this? This ALWAYS happens when I try to download a file to my computer from the FTP..

It just 404's and I couldnt connect to FTP or the site

CuteFTP I used to use FLashFXP

Download and try FileZilla, it's free and it's one of the best ones.
Also, instead of using your subdomain as host, put directly your server IP, which is: 74.86.116.187

So when you use FTP you then get locked out of the server for a period of time? Web access and everything?

I use FTP, I start transferring a folder, the folder transfers for a while, but then it loses connection after like 5 minutes. So I lose connect to FTP (server's not responding) and when I try to access the actual website, I get a not responding as well.

Can you open up command prompt and run 'tracert studio92k.pcriot.com' and PM me the results please, I want to see if it's locking up on x10 or another server.
