FTP Problems

i was updating my website when i went to the ftp and then i went to a sub category but when i opened it i go this error:
An error has occurred opening that folder on the ftp server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder.
Details:
250 OK. Current directory is /public_html/bluefire
200 TYPE is no ASCII

then when you click on ok it gos into a empty folder but is not really empty at all, what is the problem? i am using the default ftp account.

Normally issues such as yours where you can change to a directory b, the folder has had its permissions incorrectly set. Please ensure they are at least 755. (rwx,rx,rx)

how do u change them because i am using windows default ftp(the one where you go to my computer and open it there)

You can change them in your file manager through cpanel.
