More information including what you used to ftp with,
plus the error message you get, might help someone to help you.

I have been getting th same error for days..I am not using FTP to update, I always use the sitebuilder tool. I made changes to my site on 10/27 and can only save it it will not publish it..just getts the FTP error saying they are already aware of it and try again in 5 minute.
So I have tried several times a day for days and still same thing.

What makes them think I would upgrade if they can't even keep the free trial site up and running?

im starting to see others reporting issues with the sitebuilder tool.
I never use that for my website and i dont have any issues.

Because i never used it, all i can really suggest is :
1- try to avoid using the sitebuilder tool.
2- use something else to build your site.
(i use dreamweaver cs5 for my own site, so try something else if you want to)
as i dont think x10hosting is going to get around to fixing it anytime soon,
but thats just my opinion, as issues have been going on for a while.

@ blakessa
many others have reported similar issues with filezilla & ftp as well.

all i can suggest trying, is to use your ftp from your cpanel instead.
and not from filezilla. (or try a different ftp client)

i do not use filezilla, i use dreamweaver to do everything .
and i have NOT had any ftp issues at all.
which indicates to me that filezilla must use protocols that are not
standard or work properly with x10hosting.

@spacresx yeah I posted this another thread..

"Installed WinSCP FTP and that connected to x10 just fine however it's not letting me transfer files.. wonderful.. just wonderful.

EDIT: Now Filezillas has finally connected sucessfully too but now its not letting me transfer files either.. arrrghh. I REALLY need to get these files on there.."

And now another day later neither will connect at all. 2 different popular FTP problems that failed to work with x10. I tried using their online file manager but it only lets you do one file at a time (& I've gotta do hundres) and the files I tested never appeared on the site so that doesn't work either.. :(

What a mess.. I picked the worst time to do a major site update.. now my site is broken because I deleted a bunch of stuff not realizing that I'd be unable to replace them!

all i can suggest trying, is to use your ftp from your cpanel instead.
Sorry to be dumb but can you elaborate on this.. do you mean you can somehow to ftp stuff through an app in windows control panel? thats news to me!!

.

If FTP is giving you problems and it's urgent...
ZIP up the files locally that you want to upload, so they now are all in a single file.
Then upload the zip file via the online file manager.
Then use the menu option to "unpack" the zip file.

.

after you log into 'Cpanel', then click the 'file manager',
using the 'upload file' from the menu, you can upload files to that directory.

You can try zipping the files first, then upload the zip file.
(total file size of upload can not be more than its either 10MB or 14MB)
anything larger gets deleted within 24 hours.

also you cannot store a bunch of files that your site does NOT use.
that is against the terms and they will get deleted and you may get suspended.

I uploaded a 129MB zip file perfectly fine, not sure why you're saying it can't be more than 10MB or 14MB.

i do know because i experienced this same issue.
i overlooked it at the time, but livewire answered it for me/
livewire is the Abuse Compliance Officer for x10hosting.

"File Storage
Hosting accounts may not be used to store backups, personal files, or non-web accessible files. Any files hosted on the account must be directly related to the website the account is intended for. Files over 10MB in size will be automatically removed from non-upgraded accounts."

this means any file that is over 10 mb will be removed.
that post is here

The zip file contained all the relevant web files for my website and was immediately deleted after unzipping.
No issue here.

Problem is I couldn't even upload one file using the online file manager.. I'd get no errors but when I viewed the folder I uploaded to after there'd be nothing there lol.
