ftp upload problem

I'm using Dreamweaver and have configured the ftp settings before for other sites without problems. I'm getting the error message "error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot put (filename). Access Denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem. My settings are:
ftp host -ftp.mysite.x10hosting.com
host directory -/public_html/
Login - dizzad
password - mypassword
On testing the connection, I get Dreamweaver has connected to your server succesfully. When I attempt to upload files I get the error message above. I suspect there's a problem with my settings. What do you think?

We're working on deleting accounts to free up space right now. It will work soon.

I should have mentioned that I'm able to upload files from within the cpanel. I just can't seem to get anything to upload from Dreamweaver.

I'm sorry to do this in bits and pieces, but I want to supply more info as I get it. I tried uploading from DW and read the entire message. I got this at the end....Access Denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem.
