Well, now that I'm considering setting up one of my PCs as a game server, for future use when I get Fiber Optic internet here, I had a few questions.
1: Why do the servers you get from hosting companies lag whenever you put any kind of physics work on them? I was just playing Garry's Mod and I managed to bring 5 servers to their knees and crash with one of my large ships from the Advanced Duplicator, things my gaming PC easilly handles with very little CPU usage, and even things my old Celeron 2.4Ghz box can handle flawlessly. And "ping" lag is out of the question, I typically sustain 18-22ms on the servers I play on.
2: Why is the cost per slot so expensive when bandwidth is dirt cheap, and hardware can be gotten for easilly, cheaply.
