getting 500 Internal Server Error

I have website named http://vengurlainfo.x10hosting.com/ . Home page is visible but when i click on any other link like http://vengurlainfo.x10hosting.com/hotels.html i got error.

Error msg is "The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.Please contact the server administrator, support@x10hosting.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.More information about this error may be available in the server error log.Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

Please solve this problem.

Make sure the file permissions are set to 755

777 will not work

how i can change that? Last week my website worked well. I dont know what happened today. What is the real problem? last week i have buy new domain, i hv parked domain. It worked well. but from today morning it is not working.

Yes. I have fixed my problem:smile:. Ther is no need to change file permissions. I have read this update on forum.

Update 1: Users with programs installed (Joomla, Drupal with SEO-friendly URLs) relying on Apache’s mod_rewrite have reported various issues. Also reported has been a fix, adding “RewriteBase /” to their mod_rewrite-enabled public_html/.htaccess.

And then i hv added RewriteBase / to the .htaccess file. And it worked. Website http://vengurlainfo.com is working fine.

I have followed following simple steps.

1) I went to public_html folder.



2) I have opened .htaccess file



3) added RewriteBase / tag on the top of the file and saved file. problem fixed.
