Seems like stoli mail function having a really tough time to recover...
So.... How google apps can help us replace x10 mail ?
What are the x10's features that I'll have to sacrifice with google apps ?

Good news !Atlast Stoli started working !!

Ok... So if I switch to google apps, will I be able to get back to x10 mail ?

And... Should I stick to default or go for google apps ?

You can switch back and forth at any time, you just need to change the MX records back to X10 when you want to come back.

Personally, I use Google apps instead of X10 because it has more features (even though I'm on paid). Even just the number of accounts for me jumps from 10 to 50, so that alone is worth it. Like I said before, it's a little bit of work to get it working and little bit of work every now and again to keep things running smoothly, but it's nothing you can't handle or ask someone on the forum here how to handle

Alright, Stoli not working again... I'm moving to google apps !

There are some confusions in setting it up....

In the change MX entry, I did it this way:

Change mx for "mymaindomain.com. and there is a box in front "prority 0" and in the box beneath "ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM"

And... in the current mx entries, what should I do with "always accept" what is this ?

And what I have to do to get all my mail ids to transfer to google apps ?

But to get access to the google apps you have to verify your email / domain. can't do that with X10 mail service is down. you have to verify your addr. already been there. thats my brick wall. You can use google as a smtp relay this way.

Are you talking about mx entry ?
I've put the code that google provided and my domain is verified.
But in the mail section it says "Updating"

Now, google can verify mx entry only when x10's mail starts working ?

But the TTL is way too long I think its like set so high as 24 hrs.. for MX. I keep hoping x10 will get this email outage resolved soon so we won't have to change. Im new here so I don't know the x10 history for mail outages.

Well, I think better move to google apps...

As on now I can bear few hrs outage....

But you can never be assured that once it'll resolved the problem will never happen again!

And in future i don't want to say to myself "I should've moved"

And hey... I can have 50mails instead of 5 !

Let me know if you find a way to move mail service to google without having to verify your email addresses. I can't do anything because google wants me to verify my ID but I can't because I can't get any email.. google sent me 2 emails. I have not seen anything. I don't see how to change the MX with google without email verified on the domain. the MX TTL is set to 24 hrs so if you did change the MX record and kept the domain on x10 DNS. It wouldn't start working for 24 hours. What a mess!...
