If you have the PHP Script for generating Sitemap, you can use it to generate XML Sitemap. But, be sure that it won't use more CPU or memory to avoid suspension of your account for High Resource Usage.

I use Google Site Map Generator for Wordpress. It consumes about 10M when building/re-building the sitemap.XML and sitemap.xml.gz (or whatever the extension is). But aside from that it runs fine...

I used once a Software to make a sitemap and i got my account suspended because it used 98% of server resources.
That's why I agree with "takuhii". I use the WordPress Sitemap generator and i don't have problems... because (if you set it to run once a day or once a week depends on how much new content does you website add) it uses 10MB memory (for only 10 sec or less). That doesn't need more than 10 seconds to make the sitemap...and does not affect server or other users.

It generates an XML file to guide web crawlers around your site, and keep them from crawling certain areas (though you could use a robots.txt file for that part).
