Has anybody tried this out yet? I'm still waiting for an invite... If so, what do you think of it?

I haven't yet, as I need to sign up for the trial of it. I do have a Google account though so if I do get invite abilities, I'll happily toss one to someone here.

That website seems pretty flawed; a single person could go through claiming to have sent invitations to all the people and remove them from the list.

That's true, I made sure I got a GMail beta invite before it went public.

I didn't even know about GMail when it was in Beta. I'm using Google Voice's beta testing version, though.

Yup, it was and I got a beta to it lol. Though I wouldn't say no to a beta invite to Google Wave.

I just got my invite but according to this, I have to wait to invite people... Once I get that in my inbox I'll invite people in the order replied to this thread.
