Got my ubuntu CDS

They were shipped FEB 5th took abut 2 weeks to get to me


I ordered 25 ..


How many did you guys order and get how long?

I just downloaded the ISOs and burned them myself. I installed Ubuntu 7.10 on an old pc I have laying around, and now I have my own dedicated bf2 gameserver running on it 24/7. Ubuntu kicks butt!

Ubuntu is a nice OS. Personally, I enjoy Kubuntu better because IMO KDE is much more memory friendly. Gnome is for the higher powered systems.

Or it could be because the only Distro I've been able to fit onto my 1gb SanDisk USB drive is a KDE based distro

I use Fedore Core 9 Alpha - Developers and Webmasters Only Special Editon
It comes with YUM, KDE, Gnome, XDE, Enlighenment, WINE, firefox, gimp and all the kde family products xd

i should give kubuntu/ubuntu/xubuntu a spin.

(Don't try Mandriva/Debian/OpenSuSE, they are sucky and buggy)

I don't order them as I can download the ISOs in under 5 minutes from the NORMAL (no, not torrents) download servers, and get them burned after a download in 4 minutes as well.

Well they have problems!!! I can't get past 82% so I had to disconnect my internet. And now I can't do cube effect anyone know how to do it>

I had the same prob but when I put off the LAN/INTERNET wire it worked,

did you check the md5 checksum, it ensures that whether the cds are downloaded uncorrupted

The cube effect requires some special drivers for your graphics card, that's all. Otherwise, from what source are you downloading the ISOs? I don't use torrents, as I've got them blocked here (bandwidth hogging things that I hardly ever use, but yet I have unlimited usage on my internet). I download from the Rochester Institute of Technology or Gigenet. Those are the fastest servers I've been able to find. Otherwise, try one of those two servers if you are in the US and see if it disconnects. If it disconnects, then I can probably help you out with that. On Gigenet, I downloaded an ISO for Ubuntu as a speed test at my school, and I was able to fully get 45Mbps there as my school has a T3 there.
