Good morning,

After several weeks experiencing problems in either accessing my site, the MySql db or even the administration panel, everything seems to be up and running again today, after modifying host back to "localhost". The only remaining problem is that I get the
Great Success !
Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server...

message when typing the address of my domain (www.artsenligne.fr).

When I access my site via the x10hosting address, there is no problem.
When I do a ping on my domain, it returns 74.86.240.236.
Could you correct this failure or let me know what I can do to solve the problem?

Thanks,
j

this could be due to dns propagation... try this trick:

start->run type cmd hit enter, in the window that comes up type:
ipconfig /flushdns hit enter

try your site again (it did the trick for me, with my site)

Seeing as that probably is an addon or parked domain, if you used IP (a-name record at the domain registrar) instead of changing name servers you might need to check so the IP is correct.

as far as I could see cossacks did change IP after the moves, suppose that could be the case on other servers as well

Also if you have recently changed your domain name this also occurs. Sometimes changing it back and then changing it again will fix it.

No, the flushdns trick does not work either... thanks anyway.
I am indeed on cossacks, but I suppose that, if any change would have required an action from us (modification of DNS) we would have been informed?

no, if you haven't changed to x10hostings name servers (that's what they recommend you to do when using addon or parked domain) at your domain registrar you'll have to keep track and make sure you got the correct a-name record (IP) for that domain addy your self.

at my registrar, I used ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com as instructed

then it should sort itself to the right IP, maybe it just takes some time for the dns to propagate...

otherwise I have no idea what it could be

ps. my addon domain took a bit longer to show up then the x1hosting domain did. At first it wasn't even present in the cpanel, couple hours later it was, and thats when I did the flushdns (after sorting IP at my registrar since I haven't changed name servers)

Your site opens fine. Clear all temp data, delete all cookies and try again.

You suggest it may be coming from my PC? However, I cleared any temp data that I could, deleted history and cookies, restarted my browser... even my PC... but I still get the same naughty page...

Well, I think I'd better wait until it solves by itself. As LadyAnna said, it may just be due to DNS propagation. Maybe the change has not yet propagated to me!

Thanks for all your help

Sorry to come back with this issue, but today the wrong page still shows when calling my homepage. I also tried at the PC of another person.

The strange thing is that this domain does not appear in the "parked domains" section of my cpanel where it should normally be listed, shouldn't it?
If I try to add it, I get a message saying that it it is already configured... and if I try to redirect it, nothing happens.

How do you explain this? Since the message of the "Great success" page refers to cpanel, is there something to be modified in the configuration of my cpanel?

Thank you.

Your site seems to be loading fine for me. Is this still an issue?

Yes it is. Is it possible that, accessing my website internally on the x10 network, you have no problem to view it, whereas elsewhere on the web, people would see this cpanel page?
Isn't it strange that this artsenligne.fr domain is not listed in the "parked domains" section on my cpanel?

Thank you
j

I don't access it internally. I use URl's, i copy and paste into a new window. The apache page does show for the URL you posted the artsenligne.fr.

I will look into this matter a little deeper.

Yes, but I mean, aren't you accessing this domain from within the x10 hosting network? (you are an x10 admin, right?). I thought that it could make a difference...
How do you explain anyway that the domain does not show in the list of parked domains in my administration panel?

thanks

Although i can access your site internally i choose not to. This way i can try to recreate the same errors that the clients get. If i accessed internally and never had any issues then i would not be of much help to anyone.

I am looking into why your domain is not showing up in your Administration panel.

If you have not set it up correctly then it won't show up in the cPanel. How did you set it up?

I created the domain in my cpanel, then changed the dns at my registrar to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com. This was last August, and it worked fine since that time (apart from 1 similar problem encountered in September, that was solved by the admin team).

Over the last 3 weeks, my site was most of the time inaccessible, due to either the mysql db or the server itself being down. This was due to the modifications on the server.

Yesterday, when I noticed this specific page when trying to access my domain, I tried the site on x10hosting.com and got an error message that made me aware of the 2 following things:
- host was back to localhost (as expected)
- user had been modified from mlgoujon_default to mlgoujon (not expected)

After I did the corresponding modifications in the php code of my site, my site launched fine when calling the site via x10hosting.com, but the "Great success" page remained when calling the site via my own domain.

This is all I can say.

Edit:
I saw the "Parking domain problem" posted by dannuke... Maybe we could try the same with my domain?

Thanks for your help.

I can't see why it would change though. We don't modify anyones account for any reason unless we are asked to. So i am not sure as to why yours got changed the way it did. When Corey sends me back a reply i will hopefully get an answer.

Thanks! But I can assure that I did not change the database user name. Furthermore, it still appears as myname_default in cpanel, but the fact is that on phpmyadmin, you can see "User: myname@localhost".
So when I saw this, I modified the user parameter in the PHP mysql_connect function, and it worked. But I do not think that this has anything to do with the "Great success" page problem.

I told the whole story basically to explain that the whole configuration of my account took place over 5 months ago, and the problem has very recently happened, just after the server maintenance.
