Greetings everyone!
I just joined up (still waiting for everything to propagate so I can migrate my site here), and thought I'd stop by to say hi.
I'm looking forward to being here with y'all, as it seems like a friendly sort of place.
A little about me and what I publish on the web....
I'm a cool dude from Ocean City Maryland (yeah--- life IS a beach) that has been on the web for years (all of my friends tell me that I named 'dirt', so I must be older than that -- LOL) and have created a few sites in my day (most of them just simple [like me sometimes when building a site] HTML), but recently I've forayed into php and other interesting stuff -- we'll see what happens.
All of my sites are genealogy based -- I've been researching about 25 years and amassed QUITE a bit of info which I share with the world, although some of it is only available to registered members of my site. I've recently started using a php/MySQL based program that allows real-time interaction with my research, and allows me to set privacy options and decide who does and does not get to see the real meat of the research through free memberships -- a real neat trick, I think.
Anyways, I figure I'll be in the forums here quite a bit trying to wade my way through things, so I hope y'all have a bit of patience -- I have a tendency to look at things too hard and miss the obvious, so don't be afraid to tell me when I'm missing the obvious, okay?
Well, enough for now-- I'm quite sure you'll be seeing A LOT of me.......
