This isn't the first time this has happened, but last time the x10 staff recovered my data without a problem, so I'm hoping you can do the same this time.

My site suddenly disappeared from the URL it's supposed to have; when I logged into the account panel, I found its domain URL had been changed. Furthermore, my own files and database content had been replaced by those of some amateur dating site (which was consequently accessible at the 'new' domain). Needless to say I changed my account password, deleted the dating site, and FTPed my latest backup of files that I had previously copied to my own machine back up to my account on the x10 server (stoli).

Unfortunately, something happened to my personal backup of the MySQL database contents, and my site isn't functional without it. Any chance the x10 staff can recover my database tables from before the hack? From what I can tell the hack occurred around June 24.

Thanks.

P.S. Anyone else have similar experiences with their site suddenly moving to a new domain with different content? This is the second time for me. And no, no one else has ever known my password.

I will move this to level 2 support so a admin can look into the backup.

I recommend you use a stronger cpanel password. A strong alpha numeric one should do the job.
eg : a4D5er7Ig92 (or something to that effect)

OK, I'll move it to Level 2.

For the record, I have a separate password for my CPanel/FTP versus the x10forums login (where one has to change the domain URL). Both passwords were at least 10 characters, totally random alphanumeric. Since a hacker would have had to bypass both passwords to do what happened -- on two different occasions no less -- it makes me think it's not just a brute-force password bypass. Rather, either there's some hidden weakness in x10 or else the Gallery2 software that was on my site (though the latter still wouldn't allow the x10 forums to be bypassed).

I'm sorry, but making backups is your own responsibility, and we can't help you this time. We did backups when we made the "Server Moves" maintenance, but this was around January/February.
