(Hamachi is a very nice VPN service if you don't know)

if you like it, please send LogMeIn feedback so that they can continue to develop for Linux / OSX.

I remember the days when I used to use Hamachi to play CS over the Internet. It was fun and the software proved reliable!

Will try out the new version soon.

Hamachi is pretty decent, especially the free version. I use it every now and again to join peoples' game servers when they tend to be too lazy to port forward so I can directly connect to them. It works pretty well considering it's a VPN service for free.

Yea. They used have the Mac and Linux editions earlier but they removed them. Good thing they brought them back. Simple, light-weight, easy-to-use excellent.

it allows you to setup a virtual private network between all computers you have it installed on. you can do any network interaction (file transfers, rdp, gaming, etc.) with computers in your network even if they are across the room, state, country, world.

for your first ever installation, i suggest the windows version. create your personal VPN, then install it on some other machines and join your personal VPN. install it at work for file transfers, install it at home for remote connection to work. create some other network and join your friends for a "direct" connection for gaming.
