i recently downloaded photoshop elements 2.0...
but everyone seems to use photoshop 7 or 8..
is there a big difference?

oh and i would love to know how to make cool signatures and logos
whenever i try to make one using my elements 2.0 it seems very...

trashy.. lol..

oh another quick question!
is the process mostly done through filtering effects or other tools also?
and if its mostly done through filtering...
what kinda filtering effect do you guys use the most??

oh keep in mind that my post is focused on learning how to make cool sigs and avatars and banners and logos

There actually is a very large difference. Photoshop is a professional grade image editing suite that has support for plugins to do almost anything imaginable.

Photoshop Elements is a streamlined subversion of Photoshop. While yes, they are both part of the Photoshop family, the features in Elements are more centered for a beginning user. The features in Elements are also geared towards photo editing (i.e. birthday parties, weddings, portraits....) and less towards image manipulation (i.e. web graphics, custom images....) Elements has fewer features, of which have a more directed reason for being in the program.

What you want to do, make a cool signature and logo, would best be done in Photoshop and not Elements.

As for how to make those images, that's a post best left to the graphic designers on x10. Of which, I am not one. I just use Photoshop for fun. :grin:

i dont give my secrets away but maybe some else will. i use ps7. elements is just for photo stuff i think. not for complex stuff.

Photoshop is the premier photo graphics creation program. Dont have a clue what elements is but ig you wish to create/edit images then go for Photoshop CS2.

And if I were you I wouldnt openly tell people that I use warez ;-)

um... im only a sophomore in hs

and i do not work right now... which means...

spending couple hundred dollars on applications that i can download easily

seems... hm... kinda weird...:getlost:

i know i shouldn't be saying this..

but i think its waste of my money.. the money that i've been saving up for a car and money that i can use for better hardware on my computer...

and i am SURE that all of you downloaded some kinda software for free because you just didn't have enough money in your wallet to buy one or just didn't feel like spending couple of hundred bucks on software...nline2lo

but when i work and get my own paychecks...

sure i will start buying softwares...

oh by the way i just downloaded photoshop 8.0 :fear:

now teach me how to make the coolest signatures in da world :grin:

Adobe Photoshop CS2 is the newest version of Photoshop.

After Photoshop 7, Adobe packaged Adobe ImageReady with Photoshop and started calling it their Creative Studio (hence CS) The first version of CS was released about a year ago and Adobe has recently come out with CS2.

I use adobe photoshop 7 and i think it's the best i dont need CS or CS2 and elements is an addon to photoshop with extra effects and brushes

Haha... this is funny to read. I have Photoshop CS, but I really suck at developing graphics and such. I think it's probably because I'm always trying to follow steps or that most of the time I have no idea what kind of graphic I want to make :blink: Sooo, maybe just mess around with it alot? Sorry I can't be of more help
