Anyway, my name's Andy. My site's http://www.andrewbuch.com, which is my professional resume, more or less.

I'm a musician, studying film scoring and bass performance at Berklee College of Music. I have music from both idioms (composition and performance) up on the site. I'm also a bit of an amateur coder - when I want something to exist that doesn't, I tend to learn how to make it and get it done eventually. I have a MIDI program for the DS up on my site that came into existence as a result of this tendency.

So, I guess I'll be seeing you guys around. I purchased the Inactivity Protection, but I still plan to make friends around the forums in the time I do have.

Will do Luke. I've posted a bit already, and have been very happy with the customer service and the general atmosphere here. I spent the last few months using 000webhost.com, which while it's great in the bandwidth and space it promises you, they're incredibly awful at dealing with members.

What led me to switch was that I was having files of mine randomly being deleted from their servers without notification or explanation. I tried opening up "support tickets" only to have them closed without response. I posted on the forums, and was told that they could have swept them thinking they were "illegal files" - when they were my own music that I composed, performed, recorded, etc.

I got fed up with them this weekend and decided to head over here, and so far am extremely glad I did.

Bad luck with 000webhost, I hear a lot about customer service issues. x10Hostings support offerings are pretty good for free members, live IRC support chat with the support tickets for staff to keep up to date, the forums...not bad at all.

I moved to x10Hosting about a year ago and have had a couple of hosting accounts in that time (there were problems with my old account after the recent server restructure so I backed my stuff up and removed my account). I can well and truly say they're the best free host I've ever used and will definitely buy paid hosting soon.

I told a couple of people about x10Hosting, they seemed pretty happy they headed over here :biggrin:
