The closed account is just suspended. It hasn't been terminated yet. Therefore, the account still exists pending termination, and now you say that there is another account that you are trying to put that domain in. You have confirmed through what you said that you now have two accounts. That is not allowed. You're going to have to wait for the 'closed' account to be terminated before you'll get access to that domain. Otherwise, if you find hosting elsewhere, you can just change the nameservers.
