Hi Moderators,

Good Day!

I was in shock to know that when I logged in today to my free account it prompted me to register my domain. I was confused with this because I never encountered this before. After following the steps the system prompted me that I cant register due to my country. I really need those files I had because it contains my thesis and that was my latest version of my files. I really need my files. Is there a way I could recover them?

Thanks!:(

The system does not show a free hosting account linked to this forum account.

What do you exactly mean sir? this is where I usually go to check on my thesis but when I checked it today it was blank. and when I logged in as I stated in my message above that's what happens.

It wouldn't if the account were suspended and had remained suspended long enough to be terminated. If that's the case (and it could well be), then it is unrecoverable. Backups are maintained on Free Hosting to recover from server-wide disasters, but not in a way that allows for individual account recovery. That's why it explicitly states in the Terms of Service that site backups are the account holders' responsibility. (It also states that file storage is not allowed, by the way. All of the files on your site need to be related to your web site.)

I certainly hope you've got enough work locally to reconstruct your thesis.

Sir if my account was suspended should I be informed prior to it? And I think I was not violating anything cause it was just my thesis. If I had been informed earlier then it would not have to come up to this.

strange - when typing your subdomain name dunamis.x10.mx, one gets redirected to hosting.x10hosting.com with a nice blank white page.

Have got my account suspended due to inactivity too but always with an email to remind me and always with a helpful link to unsuspend myself.
x10hosting has matured through the tough times. It states its terms and conditions clearly.

Hope you have some older copies of your thesis stored some place.

that's what also came to my mind first when I checked at it today. And another is that I had not received any information about that. I can't even access my cpanel. I have a copy but its really outdated compared to what I had here uploaded.

I really hope those can be recovered my deadline is almost up for submission.

You can't access cPanel because there is no account to access. If you had been logging into cPanel directly (and not going through your account portal), then you may well have been suspended for inactivity. An email would have been sent, but due to abuse from client accounts back when account holders were allowed to have x10hosting.com subdomains, your email service provider may have blacklisted mail sent from x10hosting.com, so there is a chance that you didn't receive it. Or it may have gone to your spam folder.

(It's highly doubtful that you would have been suspended for the thesis, mostly because it would have been small, but yes, it was a file or files not related to your site, thus breaking the terms of service. Free Hosting accounts are for web sites, not "cloud storage". You'll find that most free web hosting accounts have similar restrictions. For cloud storage, it makes a lot more sense to use a cloud storage service like Dropbox or Google Drive, which have reasonable free account sizes, or even a large-capacity webmail account like Gmail.)

I had been logging in via my account portal sir and when I am able to log in it tells me to create a new domain. I was really confused with this cause to my knowledge I already have a domain. Yes I was really shocked that all of it was gone it was just my thesis. I had to use this hosting site because my thesis was running via web so I need a hosting site to do it. I was not just using this site as a cloud storage.
