I along with a friend want to launch a quizzing website
where:
1. We post a daily question (or weekly)
2. Hold a monthly quiz
3. Maintain a leaderboard( u score points for every answer)
4. Have profiles of every quizzer and they can mmaintain links to their blogs

Which CMS should i use? What plugins are suited for this kind of site
Can you suggest a free domain on co.cc for this site?
If i have to outsource a site like this, how many credits should i offer

an exsisting site of this kind: http://brainiedeal.wordpress.com/
(i got motivated looking at that)

But i would definitely like a better site

I was wondering like how vbulletin has credits if i can use credits for maintaining a leader board
and me as the adminstrator can simply award people credits for correct answers

ill definitely add to your rep for any ideas that help

im looking for a free solution, please dont suggest paid software and/or CMSes
and I want to host it on x10 or wordpress only

Not very helpful, but just keep searching for the free parts and link them together and change them to fit your needs. Thats what I do and have hours on one thing only to find it wont work with my site with no reasion at all, hours of checking the code and its right, so sometimes you have to decide, free, and time+a bit of learning, or money and it works right away.

Also think about adding a widget that people can use on there desktop.

I'd definitely suggest using the module Quiz of Drupal, which is a much lighter-weight, simpler and user-friendlier cms in comparison to Joomla, Typo and other over-loaded systems.
