Hello everyone, my name is Calvin Vandermeer and I am an amateur author. My site is www.cvandermeer.x10hosting.com, and it hosts my writing which I do in a variety of genres. I update every sunday with a brand new piece of short fiction. Here's my dilemma. The latest piece that I have written (which can be found here) has no title. I narrowed it down to my three top choices and asked a variety of people that I know and every person had a different answer. So I want to know what YOU think. Go to my site, read the story, and vote for the title you think bests describes the story. The options are:

The Sculptor
Woman of my Dreams
The Defining Element

Alternatively you can email me your response - my email address is in my signature and at the bottom of every page. At the end of two weeks, I will tabulate all of the responses and the option with the most votes on this poll and through my email will become the OFFICIAL title of the piece.

But I'm not just interested in what you think is the best title. I want to know what you think about the story itself. What did you like about it? What did you hate? What is your interpretation of the piece SPOILERS
(i.e. was the woman real in his dreams and he brought her into the real world or was she a figment of his imagination that he made real?)/SPOILERS
While I know what my interpretation of the piece is, yours may be different and yet still equally valid. So let me know, and discuss it here, or email me your comments. I genuinely want to know.

And if you like my story, maybe you might want to consider reading one of the other stories on my site. I write in a variety of genres, so you should be able to find something that you will like. Again, I welcome all feedback and positive criticism that you might provide, so don't be shy. And if you really like me, then maybe consider adding me to your favorites and visiting every sunday night. So spread the word, and let me know.

Thanks a lot,
Calvin
Edit:
Edit: Well, although I haven't received any responses yet from this forum, I have gotten 4 emails. The results so far:

Woman of My Dreams: 2
The Sculptor: 1
The Defining Element: 1
Edit:
Hmm still no takers? Perhaps this thread should be moved to Crossfire, as I am trying to get a discussion going.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I haven't been able to access my email since my laptop died (long story) so I don't have the latest total of email replies, but so far its been pretty close between "Woman of my Dreams" and "The Defining Element".

@pr0xx; I post every sunday. The next story is a horror tale called "The Many Magical Machines of Mr. Maniac".

@Zdroyd; I'm not quite sure I understand. Are you saying I should make the title of the story "An Allusion"? Also, you mentioned to me that you are writing a sci-fi novel; when will your site be up?

Anyways, thanks again everyone and feel free to post your comments here. I'm thinking about adding a comments section to my site but am a bit wary of that sort of thing because of bad past experience. Do you think it would make feedback more immediate? Let me know,
Calvin

Anyways, since this thread has fallen so far back into the forums that it takes sophisticated spelunking equipment to retrieve it, I will be closing the thread as soon as the poll ends, so if you want to vote do it quickly. So far it looks like the title will be "The Defining Element". A big thank you to everyone who responded both here and via email. I appreciate it.
Calvin
