help w/ftp database

Ok, so my question may be a little hard to understand but I'll do my best to explain my situation.

I was playing around with my account and ftp database with file-zilla and I was able to upload my files and everything just fine. Able to view them and everything. I then decided to delete every file that is on my ftp database and just make my own sub-directories from scratch... well, It says my website can't be found. How do I get those files back that were on by default or to fix this in general?

When i open your website... It give 404 error page..

Make sure the public_html folder is not deleted..

because it is the document root of your website

Thank you! I recreated the /public_html directory & everything seems to be fine now.
