Ok so i am following a guide on how to add mybb to my free forum.

See here - http://myblog4u-nick.blogspot.com/2009/01/create-free-forum-using-mybb-with-free.html

I am now up to this part:

Step-by-Step Procedure to install myBB in your server:

1. In your browser, visit the URL where you installed your forums, appending /install/ on to the end of it.

For example: yourname.x10hosting.com/forum/install/

When i type in my URL i get this error

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /Forum/Upload/install/upgrade.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Any ideas why i can't install it? =|

You don't have permission to access /Forum/Upload/install/upgrade.php on this server.

Use FTP or cPanel-->FileManager to check the permissions of :
public_html/Forum/Upload/install/upgrade.php

Should be something like 644.

It seems that you could have a permision issue. put the permission to 644 for every php file in the forum.

Ok first off then i think i need to know exactly where to upload my folder named "Upload". Is it

Files - File manager -Web root - public_html ?

Then make a new folder named "Forums" then extract the files here and i have to CHMOD all php files to 644? Is that right?

The best place to find instructions to install software is from the creators of the software.

http://wiki.mybboard.net/index.php/Installing

Another alternative is to use Softaculous. Go to cPanel, Software/Services near the bottom of the page, Softaculous. Click on it. List of scripts on the left. mybb is about a third of the way down.
