it's been about 12 hours and my hosting account still says pending. is this normal?

it said when i signed up that it would take an hour to set up the whole account. i still don't have hosting. what is going on here? i even tried to respond to a similar thread but i couldn't even reply. this is so strange.

New account creation is usually very quick but if there are a large number of new account creations requests pending, (as there appears to be at the present time), then the process could be delayed. We apologize for this inconvenience.

You only need to log in once every 31 days to avoid suspension, you don't need to post. You should log in for a couple minutes so that the system notices you, though
