First off, I cannot thank Corey, adamparkzer, or LadyAnna enough for their help.

The issue is high CPU usage, which I thought was fixed when I disabled attachments after Corey's help the first time I posted about this.

After a month the issue has been almost constant. Since I use only a small percentage of allocated resources, have only a small chunk of users, and run no seemingly costly addons or what have you I am unsure how to proceed.

The site is now suspended again for the same issue only shortly being un-suspended by LadyAnna.

Since the problem isn't able to be tracked down, if I could attempt to reproduce the problem locally with a new backup then maybe I could identify the issue.

The problem is that I would not have the exact environment or the means to reproduce the error (not knowing where to start).

An un-suspension for right now would at least let me get the most recent data.

Thanks for taking your time with this!

Have you tried contacting e107 with your problem to see if they have any ideas on what causes it or how to resolve it?

If you can find where the problem starts in the code, there are ways to lower CPU usage (at the cost of site load time) and I would be willing to help you implement it on your site. I'm not able to dig through tens of thousands of lines of code in hundreds of files though :p

Thanks again LadyAnna, I got the data.

garrettroyce: The problem lies within the forum which is actually developed by SMF ( http://www.simplemachines.org/ ).

I haven't contacted the developers of either although I probably could.

Hopefully I can find the root of the problem soon enough!
Thanks everyone.

I use SMF for my site, and I have never had any issues with it. Are you using any modifications? What version are you using?

I've also used SMF in the past with no issues.

Are you at a phase in your site's development where switching to phpBB3 or another forum could be possible?

I use phpBB and it is brilliant, and runs without a glitch.

Adding to that, you may want to look at mybb as well.

^ at the end of the day, the choices are endless, and when I first set up my site, I spent a long time trialing CMS's and forums-it took about 3 tries to find the right ones. Just stick at it. Googling "top 10 forum software" or something along those lines was something I found helpful, too.

Feel free to PM me if you need any further help with software selection.
